How is it played?

You start with 1 sheet of newspaper for each child placed on the floor you then ask all the children to find a piece of newspaper and sit on it. You then ask the question, “If you are good dancer put your hand up”? You select one child with their hand up and bring them out to the front asking them their name and favourite song,

You then explain to everyone that they have to copy the dancer at the front but as soon as the music stops they all have to sit on the newspaper as quickly as they can. You play the favorite song and the game begins, when the music stops all the children sit down on their paper, you then ask was that easy or was that hard? To which the reply is always easy. You then ask all the children to fold the paper in half, give a prize to the dancer at the front and a new dancer is selected, but this time when the music stops they have to kneel on the paper.

This procedure is repeated with different dancers and different tasks every time the paper is folded until it’s so small it can no longer be folded. The children then have to hold the paper in their hand jumping up and down waving the newspaper about until the music stops, when the music stops they all have to open the newspaper back up to full size and sit on the paper, the first one to sit on the fully opened paper wins

How is it played?

You start with all the children sat down, you then ask the question, who’s got Pets? Lots of hands will go up, you then ask who can draw their pets on a balloon, some hands will go down out of the remaining hands that are up you select 4/ 6 people to take part normally 3 boys and 3 girls.

You then ask them to choose a friend to hold the balloon, provide the pen, (normally a black marker pen) and the game begins with a time limit of 90 seconds, When the time is up you stop the game ask for the pens back, you then hold each balloon up in turn asking the audience to guess the pet?

The person that guesses right gets a prize as do both the drawer and the balloon holder

Number of children 4 – 6

Suitable for Age range 5years – 8years

Best time to play this game. Normally after some fast dancing gives everyone chance to calm down and chill for a few minutes just before the food,
