Event name:   Cooper Perry Summer Ball
Event date:   23/06/2006
Venue:   Stafford County Show Ground

Staffordshire County Showground offers four function rooms, the largest of which is The Ingestre Suite with a floor area of 590 square metres enabling it to accommodate up to 500 diners or 700 conference delegates, or 200 Perry Cooper party people.

Guests were invited from 7.00pm with a drinks reception and meal to follow, suitable background music is always played through front of house PA and "fill" speakers strategically placed around the room.

Once all guests were greeted and seated it was over to Jo Wooller One of the main event organisers to say a few words and introduce Mr Steve Hall to respond and say grace. Steve is the head of Cooper Perry Primary School. The school is small in size, with just over 200 pupils in attendance its located in Seighford just outside of Stafford.

A splendid 3 course meal was provided & served excellently by the Showground's very efficient staff. Poached Salmon as a Starter followed by Supreme Chicken in White Wine Sauce, with Apple & Summer Fruit Feast for dessert rounded off with Coffee & mints... Unless you were the DJ or Crew in which case we were given 13 over done and cold roast potatoes

The evening is arranged to raise money for the school to buy new equipment, what better way to increase the money raised than a quick game or two of heads and tails. Game ones finalists were Collin, Ian and Christa with the winner being Collin.Who when asked what he would spend his £25 winnings on replied "More Wine"

As a DJ I think its very important to get the mix of must played just right and feel a lot of DJ's fail and get it wrong because they tend to play the music they think people want to hear as apposed to listening to the guests requests and playing the music the guests want to hear.

That's why we played music from Elvis to The Knack (who) come on you must remember My Sharona yep thanks for that one Mr Smith right up to Faithless and Insomnia a real hands up in the air tune.

Finishing the night off not with the traditional slow songs but with a foot stomping remix of Tony Christie's Amarillo which saw not one person sitting down
